WHO IS CHRIS NICHOLLS?

KEYNOTE

Two of the most essential elements of crisis leadership are authentic and trustworthy communication. As an experienced journalist and skilled communicator, Chris has crafted his amazing journey into unique life lessons inspiring today’s leaders with practical and relevant skills in successfully managing a crisis in the midst of our ever-changing global pandemic landscape. Over the years, Chris has worked alongside some of the world’s leading industry icons and entrepreneurs including Harvard Business School Professor, Michael Porter, U.S. Federal Reserve Chairman, Bernard Bernanke, and Chris Gardner, author of the 2006 international biographical best-selling memoir and movie starring Will Smith, The Pursuit of Happyness. During this time, Chris Nicholls acquired and developed valuable techniques on how leaders successfully manage themselves during a crisis.

ENTREPRENEUR

It was whilst watching one of his son’s basketball games when the idea of a real-time biometric motion technology took shape. Over the next few years, Chris spearheaded a start-up company involving biomechanical engineers, defence tracking systems and investors developing one of Australia’s most advanced human movement and monitoring technologies. Backed by the Australian Government, the bioPatch™ system put Chris in front of investors in Silicon Valley, as well as some of the biggest names in global sports, international media companies and defence organisations. He failed & miscalculated! Entrepreneur, Richard Branson, once said, ‘If you’re going to fail, fail spectatorially.’ Chris’ pain of failure has now become his positive future. Today, he shares his entrepreneurial learnings encouraging leaders on how to navigate their way through unchartered and uncertain crises.

STORYTELLER

From reporting the news to being in the news, Chris’ unique life is captured in the many heart warming and, at times, heart wrenching stories he now shares inspiring others to achieve their best life. His time in prison for refusing to disclose the identity of a corruption whistleblower, reminds us all that life is filled with unanticipated crises. Today, his message is simple; we can become either bitter or better from what we face. As a storyteller, Chris’ survival on the inside creates fits of laughter whilst, at other times, leaving his audience in tears as they hear of the immense emotional toll his family faced during his incarceration. Each of us will face a crisis during our life. There is no escaping that fact. However, Chris’ survival lessons will inspire you to ‘get back on your horse and ride again’.
